This week in Deep Ground we decided to have a look behind the curtain at just what the hell goes on across the pond once a year that justifies the likes of Gordon Elliott, Shark Hanlon, Willie Mullins & Nicky Henderson sending top horses across to compete. It's the American Grand National! It may have come and gone for another year but in this episode we're serving up some facts and figures to paint a bit more of a picture of this enigma of a race.
And this week also sees the return of our Antepost Angle segment for the new season, kicking off with the Paddy Power Gold Cup on the Saturday of Cheltenham's November Meeting. We suss out a few for the shortlist and agree on one at 12/1 that looks to stand out as an unexposed chaser that could be the answer to this year's renewal.
Lastly, we finish with our weekend selections, both from Cheltenham's October Meeting this weekend! God it's good to have racing at HQ back...
